Happy Anniversary to Us!


For many small-to-medium sized businesses across the nation, Network Alliance is now the gold standard in customized IT support. Knowing that a team of IT professionals is only a phone call away brings peace of mind to busy leaders. So, how did we get here? Today, we’ll take a look at the history of the company from its quiet beginnings to its status as an award-winning IT provider.

In October 1996, when many current team members were learning colors and shapes in elementary school, Don Britton started Network Alliance in a basement. He knew that with the right team, he could build a hosted desktop environment that would eventually grow in to an all-in-one IT solution. The company was officially incorporated in May 1997 (hence our celebration!), and by January of 2000, a prototype was completed, the first Network Alliance associate was hired in June, the first client was brought on board in July, and the small-but-mighty team moved into its first “real” office space in November.

Originally focused on the target of small CPA firms, the company soon began working with medium-sized businesses of all types. Our commitment to customer service has never wavered, and we’re proud to say we have maintained a 98% client retention rate!

Of course, more clients required more techs to support them. In 2009, Don added team members who lived (and worked) in West Virginia, a bold move. Because he has family in the area, he knew there was young and hungry talent pool coming out of a local college. The intensive recruiting and onboarding process resulted in additions to the tech support team who were equally dedicated to making IT simple while building trusted relationships with clients as the team in Northern Virginia. This commitment earned Network Alliance recognition in multiple categories at the national Stevie Awards program for Sales and Customer Services, for the fifth year in a row in 2017.

What’s next? Our IT services continue to expand, with new offerings like VoIP services, Office 365, and enhanced security packages. But our roots in customizing IT solutions that work for you are deep. Our long standing clients still work with the same team members that they worked with the day they signed on! We hope to keep growing and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
